Sometimes I perform with artists and musicians without prior rehearsal; my graphic notation system effectively conveys real-time compositions. In the shows documented below, I play my custom zither and AG#3.9, an audio-visual software that processes pre-recorded sounds and 3D graphics based on pitch detection from the zither. In the first event, my sonic emissions intertwine with those of Michelle Lewis King, who sonifies corporal energy, and Maria do Mar, violinist. The second event features two solo performances followed by a collaboration, where my sounds merge with Pedro Melo Alves' percussion. |

Michelle Lewis-King's contribution to Live Interfaces , the journal I created in 2023, made me most curious about the performative affordances of her interface; it amplifies the acupuncture process by sonifying the "qi" flux of human body. I started to think about how one could explore its inherently unpredictable sonic behaviours in combination with the virtuosic violin of Maria do Mar, and my audio-visual instrument. Audience members would partcipate as well, including Jonas Runa who intervened with a mouth berimbao. The result was a show that explored the musicality of sound, image, space and body. |

The film festival Indie Lisboa is well-known for promoting relelvant independent films, as well as related events. One of those curated films grasps the Portuguese sound art scene in a very magnificient, human-driven, art-driven, poetical mmanner: Sur La Stre Nuro / Na Corda Bamba by Luis Fernandes. The film exposes many different approaches, and i felt delighted with their political choice for the related comiddion: a female pioneer (me) and a younger Portuguese artist (Pedro Melo Alves). The two of us were desired to interact live for the first time. But that was not mandatory. inconsnance with the understanding explored in this documentary film, We decided to structure two solo permances and then play together in a more improvised manner |
